Farming in Zone 9b Arizona
Alchemy Farms is a BIPOC woman-owned, community-operated, land-based educational initiative. We focus on bridging the gap in agricultural education through hands-on planting workshops, regenerative land management, and deep partnerships with BIPOC-led organizations.
Our mission is to reclaim our relationship to the land as a source of healing, sovereignty, and skill sharing. We aim to empower individuals and communities—especially those historically excluded from land ownership and food systems—through accessible, culturally rooted education and community building.

Gigi’s Design & Build (Owner Gigi - pictured)
I grew up in the industry as my dad is a contractor — my journey in construction started when I was very young following him around and learning to swing a hammer while I was still in diapers. As I got older and continued to learn, it turned into a genuine love for the trades. As a woman in this industry, I’ve had to learn to speak up, earn respect, and stay confident even when I was the only woman in the room — or on the job site.
What keeps me passionate about this work is being able to bring people’s visions to life. The trades have taught me resilience, problem-solving, adversity and the confidence to face any challenge head on.
For me, construction isn’t just a career — it’s a way to contribute something real and lasting to the world. One of my favorite things about being a woman in trades to help show and demonstrate that there’s more than enough room for women to lead, build, and thrive in this field.
